Andrea Isabel Jiménez J.

Professional cellist based in Italy, Andrea develops an artistic project that transforms the cello into a unique live performance experience, combining elegance, energy, and musical versatility.
Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, she began her musical training in the renowned orchestral program El Sistema, where she developed from an early age a deep connection with music and ensemble performance. She later continued her studies at the Latin American Cello Academy under the guidance of Maestro William Molina, strengthening both her technical and artistic development.
For over ten years, she was a member of the Orquesta de la Juventud Zuliana Rafael Urdaneta and later of the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra, gaining solid orchestral experience in professional environments. At the same time, she pursued studies in musicology and participated in various masterclasses in cello and chamber music, expanding her artistic and theoretical perspective.
She later continued her education in Europe, earning her diploma in Cello from the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Turin with the highest distinction (110/110), building a strong foundation in the classical repertoire.
Throughout her career, Andrea has performed with orchestras, festivals, and musical projects across Europe and Latin America, developing a versatile stage presence in both traditional concert settings and contemporary contexts.
Driven by a constant artistic exploration, she has expanded her expression beyond the concert hall, engaging with urban spaces as performance stages and creating a direct connection with audiences through live music.
This evolution led to the creation of AndreaCellolo, a solo project that transforms the cello into a complete musical experience, blending classical music, film soundtracks, and contemporary reinterpretations in an elegant and accessible format for diverse audiences.
Today, Andrea performs in concerts, festivals, and private events, establishing a distinctive artistic identity that combines academic excellence, stage presence, and a strong connection with her audience.
Other Artistic Dimensions
In addition to her career as a cellist, Andrea explores various forms of expression that are an essential part of her creative identity.
Coming from a family of painters, drawing and painting have been present in her life from an early age, becoming a natural space for visual and emotional exploration.
Since the age of 15, she has worked in the field of modeling, participating in both studio and outdoor campaigns, developing a strong aesthetic sensitivity and a refined stage presence that now enrich her artistic work.
At the same time, she has over 16 years of experience teaching music and cello, a practice that has accompanied her artistic path and allowed her to share her knowledge with new generations of musicians.
In recent years, she has incorporated movement into her artistic language through shuffle dance, integrating rhythm, body, and energy as a natural extension of her connection with music.

Why the nickname AndreaCellolo?

“AndreaCellolo” is a meaningful fusion that reflects my identity, my story, and my deep connection with art.
On one hand, “Cello” represents my passion for the instrument and for music, as well as the nickname “Andrea Cello”, by which many of my colleagues knew me within orchestras.
On the other hand, “Lolo” evokes my connection to the visual arts and my family roots, particularly the influence of my father, the painter and muralist “Loloy” in Maracaibo. From a young age, I was also known as “Lolo” or “Loloya”, as I began creating my own murals and developing my artistic identity within that environment.
“AndreaCellolo” is not just an artistic name, but a synthesis of the different dimensions that shape my creative language: music, painting, movement, and stage expression.
It is, in essence, a way of bringing all my artistic facets into a single identity.
